The Devil’s Most Wanted List

Job 1:6-8 says, “6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and ◙ Satan also came among them. 7The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” 8The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”

The book of Job is actually the oldest book of the Bible. It does not tell the oldest history, for we understand that the book of Genesis deals with the aspect of creation and the time before Job. However, Jacob was Job’s grandfather, and his father was Isaachar. Isaachar was prophesied that he would be a strong donkey “couching down between two burdens,” and he would be a “servant to tribute.” (Genesis 49:14, 15) It was also prophesied that they would be able to discern the understanding of the times. This family was a hardworking family who reaped what they sowed into the land. It was in Job’s genes, and as a result, he became one of the wealthiest men of the east in his day. However, his success was more distinguished by his perfect heart towards God than his work ethic. He truly loved God! You can be the hardest worker in the world and your work be in vain because you are more self-centered than God-oriented! It is about being consecrated to God and His purpose and seeking to please Him in all things!
2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.” The Bible teaches us clearly that God seeks for those who worship in spirit and in truth, and those whose hearts are perfect towards Him, fearing Him and shunning evil, holding fast to their integrity. Those are the people who God defends by showing Himself strong to and through. God has a mark on those who stand faithful, and it is those people whom the devil also seeks to steal, kill and destroy. Satan will never attack you unless you pose a threat against him and he sees your potential. When the sons of God came to present themselves before God, Satan also came among them. Out of all of the angels, God is always capable of pointing Satan out of the bunch, regardless of how hard he tries to present himself as an angel of light. God was not making a deal with the devil. God was telling him, “Try Job. He will stand faithful no matter what.” The reason was because God knew Job was perfect. Perfection does not mean you never make a mistake, but it deals with spiritual maturity and a heart attitude. Even when God let up the hedge, allowing the devil to take his posterity and prosperity, Job immediately shaved his head, fell on his face and worshiped God. That reflected perfection! That defined a man who truly loves and knows God! He did not sin or blame God, but he worshiped Him!

Can you imagine here in the time of Job that devils were really seeking someone to attack, and they could not find one? But God says, “Have you considered my servant Job?” God did not suggest this to make Job’s life miserable, but because He had so much faith in Job that he knew he would not give into the lies and deception of his adversary. Regardless, the devil was limited to what Job can do because God had a strong wall of protection around about him. In your life, God knows what you can handle. He will never allow you to go through anything that you cannot overcome! You just got to develop that mindset! The reason why the devil attacks with such a great magnitude is because he sees your potential and foresees what you can become. He is not attacking you for who you are now, but what you can be. Never be blinded by the “now” moment and abort your calling, but know that God has a perfect plan and future, but you must refuse to quit. I would have never dreamed three years ago of the doors of opportunity that God has opened for me in the ministry, but I could have quit back when I was even in high school and turn to drugs, alcohol and perversion, but I am so thankful that God enabled me to stay the course. You must have a vision and continue to work towards completing that vision! The devil will come by with temptations and troubles, and sometimes God will allow it to happen. After Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River and the Holy Ghost descended upon Him like a dove as a voice cried out from heaven, “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased,” the Bible teaches us that the “Spirit of the LORD led Him into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.” Our heavenly Father had enough confidence in Jesus to withstand and overcome temptation, as He does us, and God will never allow you to be tempted above what you are capable of facing, but He will always make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it. You can always make the right choice in temptation, but when it comes to troubles and trials, there will be moments in life where you have to lean and depend on God. That is why Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He died and resurrected so we can depend and trust in God! The LORD will never allow you to live a life that does not require Him, but He will give you a life where you will have no choice but to turn to Him! It is in those moments where you grow and become a better person and Christian in God!

One of the greatest achievements in a believer’s life is being named on The Devil’s Most Wanted List. When you pose such a threat to him that he seeks to attack you, destroy you and take you out, then you are doing what is right in the sight of God. If you are not doing anything to advance the kingdom of God, then Satan will let you be because you have no authority or power of God to intimidate him or destroy his works and plans. It is not an arrogant thing to want to be on his most wanted list. Does that mean you are going to be attacked? Absolutely, but how are you going to respond when that attack comes? Are you going to give in, fulfill Satan’s mission against your life and have a spiritual funeral, or are you going to war against him with a much greater vengeance? Your God is greater than any stronghold of the adversary. He is just looking for someone who is so in love and dedicated to him that they will do whatever it takes to be “spiritual firefighters” and invade enemy-held territory!
