Psalm 119 – The Longest Chapter of the Bible!

Psalm 119 is not only the longest chapter of the Book of Psalms, but also the entire Bible! While many people know this truth, very few focus on the scriptures David writes in this Psalm. You would think that if it is the longest chapter, then we must read its content and listen with our spirit exactly what God wants to say!
The main focus of this chapter is revival and devotion to God’s Word! Here are some verses to validate this point:

25      My soul cleaves to the dust;
      Revive me according to Your word.

37      Turn away my eyes from looking at vanity,
      And revive me in Your ways.

40      Behold, I long for Your precepts;
      Revive me through Your righteousness.

50      This is my comfort in my affliction,
      That Your word has revived me.

88      Revive me according to Your lovingkindness,
      So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.

93      I will never forget Your precepts,
      For by them You have revived me.

107      I am exceedingly afflicted;
      Revive me, O LORD, according to Your word.

149      Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness;
      Revive me, O LORD, according to Your ordinances.

154      Plead my cause and redeem me;
      Revive me according to Your word.

156      Great are Your mercies, O LORD;
      Revive me according to Your ordinances.

159      Consider how I love Your precepts;
      Revive me, O LORD, according to Your lovingkindness.

Through God’s Word, His righteousness, lovingkindness and ways, we are to be in a perpetual revival! Revival is not seasonal. It is not a week or weekend of services in a church building that produces little to no transformation in people’s lives or within a community. Revival is the fruit of consistent devotion to God’s Word, abiding in a true relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ! If we want revival, like God’s definition of revival, we need a renewed hunger for His Word and communication!
