Claiming or Declaring?

Job 22:28 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”

Are we claiming or declaring? There is nothing wrong with claiming a healing or a breakthrough in your life. As a position of a son or daughter, you have the right to claim your inheritance of healing and freedom. But you also have authority in this kingdom. The very authority Jesus operated in is now yours! Just as the Father gave the prodigal son a ring of sonship and authority, we are now in a position to do business in the Father’s name, meaning the stroke of our pen has the same legal authority as His! The problem is we either do not use our authority, or we misuse and abuse it!

Jesus had authority to minister to so many people when He walked this earth. He healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons and saved the lost! The same healing power and authority He deposited and passed onto His disciples, even declaring that they would do “greater works” (John 14:12). All of His authority came from the Father, which is why He spent so much time retreated and alone with God. When you look at it, when Jesus came face-to-face with many sicknesses and infirmities, He did not intercede for them for hours. He would say things like, “By faith you are whole”. He would just release the authority the Father had already given Him. All that was required was for His obedience and to release that authority, whether it was through physical touch or by a Word!

The authority we have does not come only because of the redemptive work of the cross or the empty tomb. It comes from a relationship with God, and the basis of that relationship is not so we can have authority. It is to simply know God, and everything we say or do comes from that place! We do not have to beg and plead with God to heal people. We pray and remain obedient to God, and leave the rest to Him! We can be liberated from the religious burden of “if I would have just prayed or fasted more they would have been healed”. All we have to do is remain devoted to God in His presence and will, and when He says to do something, we do it! It is time we transition from only claiming to declaring His will and kingdom in the earth.
