Victory in Love

Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Life is filled with troubles, battles, and adversity. Regardless of the lifestyle we choose to live, we oftentimes find ourselves experiencing something that puts our faith to the test. We are usually either going into a trial, in one, or coming out of one! Some may be harder than others, but through it all, we have to learn to persevere through our struggles and put our trust in a God who loves us!

Paul said here in this scripture that we are more than conquerors through him that loved us, which of course is reference to God, who is love! (1 John 4:16) He did not say that we were just winners, but that we are more than conquerors! In other words, we are completely victorious, overcoming every trap of the devil and annihilating every form opposition that comes against us. In our Christian walk, we cannot be on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs spiritually where we feel victorious one day and defeated the next, but we are to always know our position in Christ Jesus. The only way to do so is by operation in God’s holy and perfect love.

It is impossible to fully comprehend the love of God and Jesus Christ. It is hard to understand how a Savior paid a debt that He did not owe through the sacrificing of His life so that we can have the hope of salvation in Him. It is difficult to perceive how that God’s grace and mercy can forgive us of our mishaps and failures because His love is unending and unfailing! However, by experiencing and functioning in that same love, we can have the peace, joy, and faith that we so desperately need to thrive and survive through everyday life. Our victory is in His love!
