Is There Anything Too Hard for the LORD?

Genesis 18:9-15 says, “9And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. 10And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. 11Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? 13And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. 15Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.”

Jeremiah 32:27 says, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”

Over a twenty-five year period, God gave prophetic words to Abraham concerning giving birth to a promised seed. He received the promise at seventy-five, but it did not come to fruition until he was one hundred years old. Nevertheless, on one of these occasions when God spoke to Abraham, Sarah overheard the conversation, and she laughed “within herself” in disbelief because of her age. At the moment, she doubted and questioned in her heart, but God is not a liar, and what He said He would do He would perform. Even though she laughed within herself, God saw it, and while she denied it, He knew the truth. It was in this moment where He said, “Is there anything too hard for the LORD?” And the answer to that question is, “No”!

While we may face some impossible or difficult situations, God can still turn it around for His glory. Whether it is healing a headache or an incurable disease, God is more than able to meet that need. Jesus said, “With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26b). There is no limits to God today. The only thing that limits God from working to the fullest in our lives is if we have doubt in our hearts. Therefore, we must remember the scripture and know that God can do anything because He is simply God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the King of the universe. All we have to do is believe and not make light of His promises and truths, and in due time, we will give birth to a miracle. Doubt will abort that destiny and purpose, but faith will press through the pain to give birth to that miracle!
