Don’t Lose Heart

Luke 18:1 says, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint”
Luke 18:1 tells us that men ought to always pray and never faint If you pray without ceasing, you will not lose heart. We have a dead church that is losing heart because we do not pray. We talk a lot about it, but we do so very little of it. We have talent, but we have no anointing to drive out the darkness. We have eloquent speakers, but we have no authority to heal the sick and raise the dead. We have organizational meetings, but the Holy Spirit has no access in our lives to make us the Church of the Book of Acts. If we choose to get back to the prayer closet again, then we will be revived and carry His presence everywhere we go. We will not faint, but we will go strong in God. Deuteronomy 20:3-4 says, “3And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; 4For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” When you pray, you won’t faint because you will have the confidence to know that God is with you, and He that is with you is greater than anything that is against you. Who can stop the LORD Almighty? The answer is simple: NOBODY!

This is the reason why we wait upon the LORD. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” The definition for the word “wait” here in this scripture is “to bind together” or “to expect”. Too many people think of waiting is just simply sitting still and doing nothing, but waiting is just like serving tables. You are serving, and, in return, God blesses you! When you wait on God, you are serving Him, and you wait through unity and expectation. If you want to walk this life with Christ and not faint, be unified and expect His glory to come because His glory is on a spirit of unity that is centered upon Him.

When you have a consistent and continual prayer life, you will not faint, or lose heart, in ministry. 2 Corinthians 4 says, “1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12So then death worketh in us, but life in you. 13We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” We are not going to faint because we have experienced a glory and mercy of God that is undeniable. He has changed us, and we must walk in that change, shining the light of God. Sure, we may fall and even face persecution, but because of who Jesus is, and that He resurrected from the dead, we will not faint and give up. He will renew us and strengthen us day by day. It is by maintaining a consistent walk with God that we will not faint!

If you keep praying and doing the right things, and it seems in the natural nothing changes, do not lose heart because the manifestation in the natural comes after the glory revealed in the supernatural. Your prayers and works for God will not return void when you do it in honor of Him! Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” You are sowing in this season so that you will reap in the next one. Just do not lose heart!

If you are doing the wrong things, expect God to discipline you, and, when He does, do not lose heart! Hebrews 12:5-6 says, “5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” Your rebuke is so that you can be disciplined as a child of the Most High God. It is to be holy as He is holy. It is to reflect His nature and character to the world. By praying without ceasing, you begin to know and understand who God is, and you begin to live out the image of whom you were created in! Through the proper communication with God, you pick up God’s habits, and you start acting just like Him. So, do not stop praying. Do not lose heart in doing the right thing. Pursue righteousness and the glory of God so that His light can shine through you to those who need it most!
