Deliverance From Anger

Ask the Holy Spirit to allow His fruit to take over your emotion. The way to fruit is to start with seed! The fruit of the spirit is temperance or self control. The opposite of anger is to be calm or comforted. Go and search the scriptures on self control and comfort and allow the Holy Spirit to have authority over frustration! Here are some scriptures:

1) Isaiah 12:1 says, “And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.” Our praise and repentance to God turns His anger into comfort! Just as a son deliberately goes against his father and something wrong in disobedience, His apologizing and tears bring the father into comfort mode.

2) Psalm 23:4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” If the shepherd leads me into the valley of death, it is because He has been there and knows what He is doing. I do not have to shriek back in fear, but I can trust in His rod and staff for comfort. This reflects His protection and discipline.

3) Psalm 119:50, 76 says, “This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me…Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.” His Word comforts and revives us in His merciful kindness. Hold onto everything He has promised because regardless of what it looks like, He is true to His Word, and it will prevail!

4) John 14:16, 26 says, “16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever…But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 15:26 says, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” John 16:7 says, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” The Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, helps us to overcome anger. He teaches us the truth that conquers our opinions that can at times fuel anger. He causes us to remember what God has said to us, knowing He will fulfill His Word!
