Cast Your Cares Upon God!

1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.”

If you were to break down this verse in the original Greek from the Strong’s Greek and Hebrew Dictionary, you can read this verse as follows:  “Casting all of your anxieties and distractions upon God, for He is concerned for you”. God is not anxious over us, but as a loving Father, He is concerned about our wellbeing and focus. It is His will and passion for us to lay down anything that can distract us from His presence or fill us with worry. We cannot mingle worry with a prayer life, but we have to lay anxiety down so that we can pray with thanksgiving and gratitude, acknowledging and understanding how truly blessed we are by God! It is the only way the peace of God can permeate our hearts and minds! (Philippians 4:4-9)

Have you worried about something so greatly that once you look back at it, you were like, “What was I thinking? Why was I worrying so much?” Anxiety has never, nor will it ever, solve or fix any problem. Once you come to the understanding that as a son or daughter of God that His hand is upon your life, you can face any situation with confidence and peace. It doesn’t automatically mean everything that happens will be exactly what we want or even what we think is best for us, but we know His peace will carry us through it. All of the money in this world put together can never, ever buy peace. The only way to access that is through the sacrifice Jesus paid on the cross and keeping your mind stayed upon God (Isaiah 26:3)! Therefore, be encouraged today to lay every anxiety and distraction at the feet of Jesus and keep your eyes on Him, knowing the best is now and yet to come!
