Psalm 103:20 says, “Bless the LORD, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word!”

 

Ezekiel 28:18 says, “Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.”

When we understand how weighty our words are in the spirit, we would be much more careful in what we say and what conversations we hold. From scripture, it is clear that angels and demons can carry those words, making them very impactful on others, as well as our environment. Of course, some people may have the wrong conclusions as to who angels and demons are. Angels are viewed as feminine creatures with wings when there is no feminine angel recorded in scripture, and demons are seen as either short, dark creatures displayed in an evil form or a red creature with horns, a pointy tail, and a pitchfork. If this was the case, we would always discern when the enemy was working and what his tactics looked like. Needless to say, angels and demons do exist, but sometimes our minds can cling to false and deceiving images. 

 

The words “angel” and “angels” appear a total of 284x in the King James Version. This automatically indicates that these are no fake, mythical creatures, but rather part of God’s beautiful creation who serve a glorious purpose, which is threefold, including to worship, give messages and war. According to Psalm 103:20, angels perform the Word of God, even obeying the Word. They carry the Word of God with them, delivering prophetic and powerful messages. For example, Gabriel the archangel, which means a chief leader of a group, of messengers gave a message concerning the birth of John the Baptist (Luke 1:19, 26). It is important that we believe, obey and speak the Word of God because when we rehearse God’s Word, angels carry those words, creating a much greater impact on our region! 

 

On the other hand, demons can carry words that oppose God’s Word, bringing a negative impact. Lucifer, who was the archangel of worship in heaven, fell because pride was in his heart, but in his rebellion, he sinned through much trafficking, which means, “to slander”. His gossiping and slandering against Yahweh, the Creator of the universe, caused 1/3 of the host of angels to follow him in his rebellion (Revelation 12:4). Therefore, when people gossip, backbite, slander, lie, murmur and complain, they do not reflect the image of whom they were created, but they fulfill the image of Lucifer. This leads me to ask you two questions, “Whose image do you reflect”, and, “what kind of words are you speaking?” Do not speak death, but speak life, and you will eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21).
