Triumph in Tragedy

2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”

At some point in our lifetime, we will have to face and cope with tragedy. How we respond makes all of the difference! The perspective we choose to have will determine whether we allow uncontrollable circumstances to dictate our faith and emotion, or that we make beauty arise out of ashes!

Since we are made body, soul and spirit, it can be easy to be overwhelmed with grief, such as grieving the loss of a loved one. These are natural and common emotions, but triumphing in the face of tragedy can be seen through celebrating and reminiscing the memories that have been created while appreciating those people whom God has put in our lives right now! We can allow things to block our view to the point that we lose hope for the future, or we diminish who we are right now. Triumphing is having the understanding that we are seated in heavenly places, always being in Christ’s ear. It is knowing that He always hears our prayers, and instead of fighting for victory, we are fighting from victory! We know God has already won the victory through the price Jesus paid at Calvary. In every situation we face, we need to see the good out of it, regardless of how small it may seem. God has called us to be triumphant in Him. Therefore, we need to move and see through His lens of grace and mercy!
